New manga project by Yūki Kawaguchi: "Tōka no Hotel" starts in Weekly Shōnen Jump

With the current issue 24/2025 of Weekly Shōnen Jump (Shueisha), released on May 12, the new manga series „Tōka no Hotel“ (The Light of the Hotel) by Yūki Kawaguchi, known for „Red Hood,“ begins.

The story follows the young Hotel, a kind-hearted boy who dreams of becoming a warrior. His homeland, a forest-dominated realm, suffers under a seemingly endless winter – the result of a merciless war of aggression by the Ice Kingdom. Nature is devastated, harvests fail, and hope fades.

When Hotel is finally assigned as a simple kitchen helper in his country's fortress, he finds himself in the midst of the enemy's next offensive. As the fighters around him fall one after another, Hotel is confronted with a mysterious power – a turning point that could change his destiny.

„Tōka no Hotel“ combines classic fantasy elements with a coming-of-age approach and centers on a hero who embodies strength not through combat but through compassion and determination.
