New manga series NICE PRISON starts in Weekly Shonen Jump

The current issue 21 of Weekly Shonen Jump (released on April 21) introduces NICE PRISON, a new comedy series by author Tatsuya Suganuma (Dr. Stone). The story takes place in Nohana Prison, a facility where uncontrollable inmates from all over Japan are incarcerated. The focus is on Mitsuboshi Horo, an inmate referred to as the Super-Model Prisoner, who voluntarily returns to maintain the chaotic order of the institution – despite his mysterious past, which actually predisposes him to be an escape artist.

An accompanying promo video highlights the humorous tone of the series, which combines action elements with absurd slapstick.

In parallel, the series Negai no Astro (eng. Astro’s Wish) by Ken Wakui (Tokyo Revengers) concludes in the same issue. The final volume (Volume 5) will be released on May 2, followed by Volume 6 on July 4, which includes a 19-page epilogue chapter.
