The anime will consist of six 30-minute episodes streamed worldwide. It focuses on the European front during the One-Year War, a scenario made famous by the original Gundam anime. The protagonist of the story is Iria Sorari, and notable mechas include the Zeon's Zaku II mobile suit and the Federation's Gundam mobile suit.

At Bandai Namco Filmworks' Anime Expo industry panel, director Erasmus Brosdau delivered a video message, now available on the official Gundam YouTube channel. Interestingly, the voice and motion-capture animation of the main character were performed by Australian actress Celia Massingham.

What makes this project special is the use of Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, an advanced real-time 3D creation tool, for the animation process. The animation is produced by the teams at Sunrise and Safe House. The script is written by Gavin Hignight, while direction is handled by German artist Erasmus Brosdau. Naohiro Ogata and Hignight also serve as executive producers, with Hiroaki Yura as the producer.
