The science-fiction anime "Moonrise" will premiere exclusively on Netflix starting April 10. The production is handled by WIT Studio, based on an original concept by Tow Ubukata and character designs by Hiromu Arakawa. The director is Masashi Koizuka.

The story revolves around a conflict between the inhabitants of Earth and a resistance group living on the moon, seeking independence from Earth. The protagonist Jacob Shadow, nicknamed Jack, is voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi, while Yƫto Uemura voices his childhood friend Phil Arsh.

The released trailer offers first glimpses of the characters and settings, including spectacular space vistas. The title song "Daijoubu" was specially composed by AiNA THE END.

Koizuka emphasized that "Moonrise" is WIT Studio's first space opera. He also described the production atmosphere as particularly intense and full of energy. Voice actor Kobayashi highlighted the dynamic action scenes, while Uemura described his character Phil as someone caught in the midst of a turbulent and conflict-ridden narrative.
