A new original anime film titled "Housenka," directed by Mugita Kinoshita and written by Kazuyoshi Konomoto, produced by Studio CLAP, has been announced. The first image of the project has also been released.
Kinoshita and Konomoto previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed series "Odd Taxi," with Kinoshita serving as director and character designer and Konomoto as scriptwriter. Studio CLAP is known for its work on films such as "Pompo: The Cinephile" and "The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbye," which received significant attention at national and international film festivals.
In "Housenka," Kinoshita once again takes on the role of director and character designer, while Konomoto is responsible for the script. The concept art is by Michinoku Touge, who is also in charge of planning and production at CLAP. The released image shows a man watching fireworks from a veranda.
"Housenka" will be part of the "Work in Progress" program at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2024, taking place from June 9 to 15.
