New promotional videos for Gold Country, Water Country

The team behind the animated film Kin no Kuni, Mizu no Kuni (Gold Country, Water Country) has released promotional videos focusing on the film's main characters, Naranbayar and Sara, as well as a series of behind-the-scenes videos featuring the film's director Kotono Watanabe, character designer Mizuka Takahashi, and art director Tomoyuki Shimizu.







The film will be released in Japan by Warner Bros. Japan on January 27, 2023. The animated film is produced by Madhouse, with Kotono Watanabe directing and Fumi Tsubota writing the script. Mitsuyuki Masuhara will serve as animation supervisor. The film's voice cast includes Kento Kaku as Naranbayar, Minami Hamabe as Sara, Hiroshi Kamiya, Miyuki Sawashiro, Subaru Kimura, Keiko Toda, Chafurin, Masaki Terasoma, and Banjou Ginga.

The film is based on a one-volume manga by Nao Iwamoto, published in 2014 and nominated for the Taisho Manga Awards. The story is set in two neighboring nations that are at odds with each other until they are brought together by a peace treaty involving an exchange of their most beautiful and intelligent citizens.
