New Rurouni Kenshin anime premieres in July with international screenings

Fans of Nobuhiro Watsuki's popular manga Rurouni Kenshin have something special to look forward to this summer. On July 6, a new anime adaptation of the series will hit theaters, offering a fresh take on the classic story. Recently, the fourth promotional video for the project was unveiled, giving a preview of the anime's theme song, Kissaki, written by singer-songwriter Reol.

The anime is set to premiere not only in Japan but also in the United States, France, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and South Korea, showcasing its international appeal. In Japan, two exclusive screenings will take place in Tokyo on June 18, featuring appearances by cast members Sōma Saitō, Rie Takahashi, Makoto Koichi, and Taku Yashiro.
The story is a readaptation of the main manga series, with Sōma Saitō as Kenshin Himura and Rie Takahashi as Kaoru Kamiya. Taku Yashiro and Makoto Koichi will play Sanosuke Sagara and Yahiko Myojin, respectively. The anime will also feature Yūma Uchida and Saori Ōnishi as Shinomori Aoshi and Takani Megumi.
LIDEN FILMS will produce the anime under the direction of Hideyo Yamamoto, with Terumi Nishii handling character design and Hideyuki Kurata in charge of the series' scripts. Yū Takami will compose the music for the series.
