The television broadcast of the continuation of the military fantasy series "Youjo Senki" will start in a few days. The official website and several Japanese news portals have now released the first scene images as well as a summary of the opening episode. The second season is titled "Youjo Senki II" and will air from July 8, 2026.

The first episode is called "Salamander Combat Group." The story begins in the year 1926 of the unified calendar – the war rages on unabated, and the Empire is under pressure from all sides. Tanya von Degurechaff, recently promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, is entrusted with leading the newly formed Salamander Combat Group and is deployed to the Eastern Front. At first glance, the unit appears formidable, but in reality, it is a motley crew. Tanya must contend with the adversities of the winter campaign and the increasingly hopeless situation of the Empire.

The series is based on the light novel series of the same name by Carlo Zen, with illustrations by Shinobu Shinotsuki. The director is Takayuki Yamamoto, with series composition and screenplay by Kenta Ihara. Character design and chief animation direction are handled by Yuji Hosogoe. The music is composed by Shuji Katayama. Animation production is once again handled by Studio NUT.

To kick off the second season, the web radio show "Radio no Akuma" also returns. The program featuring the voices of Tanya (Aoi Yuki) and Erich von Lergen (Shinichiro Miki) starts on July 14, 2026, at 9:00 PM on the YouTube channel KADOKAWA Anime Channel. A mail form for listener requests has already been activated.

The first season of "Youjo Senki" aired in 2017 and told the story of a reincarnated Japanese office worker who, as a young girl named Tanya, fights for survival in an alternate World War reality. The second season continues the story seamlessly, showing Tanya in her new role as commander of the improvised combat group.

The series will be broadcast on AT-X, Tokyo MX, SUN-TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and TV Aichi, among others. Simultaneously, early and fastest delivery will be available via the services ABEMA and d Anime Store. The opening theme is titled "Why? RED induction" and is contributed by MYTH & ROID; the ending theme is sung by Aoi Yuki as Tanya Degurechaff, with music by Masayuki Nakano.
