New Scenes from 'Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō': Kururu and Aruru's Past Revealed

Since June 26, the first new theatrical film of the cult series 'Keroro Gunsō' in 16 years has been playing in Japan. To celebrate the 20th anime anniversary, 'Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō – Fukkatsu shite sokkō chikyū metsubō no kiki de arimasu!' (New Theatrical Film ☆ Keroro: After Resurrection, Immediate Risk of World Destruction!) is now showing in theaters. The screenplay and overall direction are handled by Yūichi Fukuda, known for the 'Gintama' live-action films, with direction by Fumitoshi Oizaki. The original voice actors return for the dub, including Kumiko Watanabe as Keroro and Takehito Koyasu as Kururu. Newcomer Jesse from SixTONES voices the two brothers Aruru and Deruru.

Now, new footage has been released showing the shared past of Kururu and Aruru. In the scene, the audience learns that Aruru and Kururu once attended the Keronian Science School together. Even back then, Aruru was a brilliant inventor who built weapons that even Kururu shied away from. With the words 'With this, I'll definitely get into the Keron Army!' Aruru exuded confidence, while Kururu dryly countered, 'I don't really like that sort of thing.' The clip offers insights into the school days of the usually reserved Kururu and hints at the rivalry between the two geniuses, which will escalate in the film.

Additionally, the fourth visitor bonus has been announced: Starting July 17, moviegoers will receive 'puku-puku stickers' featuring motifs of Keroro, Tamama, Kururu, Aruru, and Deruru. The stickers are randomly distributed and only available with admission. The film continues to be successful – over 100,000 viewers were counted in the first three days alone. Since July 10, the film has also been shown in 4DX. For those who can't get enough, a new TV series is also on the horizon: 'Keroro Gunsō ☆' will start in fall 2026 with a completely new cast.
