The official website of the anime TV adaptation of the children's book series Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendō by Reiko Hiroshima and jyajya has announced that a new series will premiere on April 7 on the NHK channel E Tele. In the new series, a mysterious figure, Professor Rokujō, played by Shinya Owada, approaches the customers of the snack shop Zenitendō and explores their deepest secrets.

Katsumi Ono is directing the new series at Toei Animation and Kanaban Graphics, taking over from Satoshi Tomioka. Most of the previous staff members are returning for the new series.

The series revolves around the mysterious sweets and snack shop Zenitendō, which can only be found by happy people. Beniko, the owner of the shop, recommends the perfect sweets for each person's problems. However, if the sweets are misused or consumed incorrectly, the result may differ from expectations, and happiness or misfortune depends on the recipients of the sweets.

The franchise has sold over 1.4 million copies since its debut in May 2013.
