As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, the animation studio Sunrise has officially confirmed the production of a completely new story from the "Armored Trooper Votoms" universe. The project is titled "Sōkō Kihei Votoms: The Gray Witch (Hexe)", in German "Panzerkampfroboter Votoms: Die graue Hexe".
Mamoru Oshii is directing this new production. The animation is being created under the leadership of Sunrise, with Production I.G participating as a cooperating partner. This marks the first completely new storyline in this well-known series in one and a half decades.
On the occasion of this announcement, first image motifs and an animated presentation video were also released.
