The TV anime "Digimon Beatbreak," the latest series in the Digimon franchise, is heading toward a new story arc. Starting July 12, 2026 (Episode 38), the so-called "Kyo" arc will air, centering on the character Kyo Sawashiro. To mark the start, the production team released a new key visual and announced an additional voice actor.

The visual shows Kyo Sawashiro (voiced by Yohei Azakami) and his Digimon partner Murasamemon (voiced by Daiki Hamano) from behind – both still from their time with the "Five Planets." At the center of the image is the newly introduced character Soji Kuroshio, voiced by Shinichiro Miki. According to the official description, Kuroshio is a former member of the Five Planets who has lost all emotions and, for undisclosed reasons, is obsessed with a fixed idea regarding Kyo Sawashiro.

The series has been airing since October 5, 2025, on Japan's Fuji TV and other stations. It is set in a world where people's thoughts and feelings, known as "e-Pulse," serve as the energy source for AI-powered devices called "Sapotama." From these devices, Digimon can emerge, feeding on e-Pulse and evolving. The protagonist Tomoro Tenma (voiced by Miyu Irino) gets drawn into the events after meeting his Digimon Gekkomon and joins the bounty hunter group "Glowing Dawn."

In addition to the announcement of the new arc, a special preview event has been confirmed: On August 8, 2026, a pre-screening of the first four episodes of the Kyo arc, along with the subsequent Episode 42, will take place at the T·Joy SEIBU Oizumi cinema in Tokyo. On stage, voice actors Yohei Azakami and Daiki Hamano, as well as series director Hiroaki Miyamoto, are expected to discuss the storyline. As an entry gift, attendees will receive a cassette with the song "Edge of Limit" and an exclusive postcard featuring a drawing by character designer Takahiro Kojima. Advance ticket sales begin on July 18 via the Ticket Pia platform.

Furthermore, the official Digimon YouTube channel released a creditless video for the series' fourth ending theme, sung by K-Pop group KISS OF LIFE titled "BREAK IT." The new ending depicts the daily lives of the partner pairs in pastel-colored imagery.

"Digimon Beatbreak" is produced by Toei Animation; series composition is handled by Ryota Yamaguchi, character design by Takahiro Kojima, and Digimon designs by Kenji Watanabe. Internationally, the anime is available via simulcast on platforms including Crunchyroll.
