New supernatural crime series launches in Shonen Jump

A new manga series titled "Choujun! Choujo Senpai" debuts in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, released on February 13, 2024. The series by Shun Numa, known for "Samon the Summoner," offers readers a unique blend of supernatural elements and crime comedy.

"Choujun! Choujo Senpai" is set in the city of Chinzoku, which never sleeps. The story follows the adventures of the psychically gifted police inspector Choujo Meguru, who works at the Chinzoku West police station. He teams up with the young officer Ipponki Nao to solve crimes using their supernatural abilities. However, Meguru's lax attitude toward work and frequent misbehavior add a special twist to their crime-fighting efforts, leading to humorous situations as they try to maintain peace in a city full of desires.

Alongside the launch of "Choujun! Choujo Senpai," this issue of Weekly Shonen Jump also marks the conclusion of Kawada's "Asmi Kakeru." The third volume of the series will be released on March 4, while the final fourth volume, including a bonus episode, is scheduled for May 2, 2024. A promotional video for "Choujun! Choujo Senpai" was released alongside the series' debut, giving fans a glimpse into the thrilling and comical world Numa has created.
