The screenplay is by Jukki Hanada. The newly produced scenes include a live performance scene featuring the character Kana Ichikawa, voiced by Yukari Tamura, as well as a special sequence showcasing the relationship between Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada.

The music group yorushika contributes the theme song "Madder," marking their return to the franchise after having composed the first opening theme for the series. n-buna, a member of the group, described the film as a work that captures the intense nostalgia of school days, comparing it to a crimson dusk. Another new song titled "GOES ON," performed by Kana's fictional band Primary COLOR, can be heard in the official trailer.

The cinema premiere in Japan is scheduled for February 13, 2026. An international release is planned for numerous territories, including the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Mexico, Chile, and Peru. Further information regarding exact release dates outside Japan and ticket sales is to follow at a later time.

The plot of the original work follows the student Kyotaro Ichikawa, who initially struggles with dark fantasies but gradually changes and grows closer to the popular classmate and model Anna Yamada after meeting her.
