New trailer and footage for Kaina of the Great Snow Sea revealed: Star Sage

On the official website of Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, a new trailer and new visuals were recently released for the sequel film Kaina of the Great Snow Sea: Star Sage. The trailer features the film's theme song, "Gekkōyoku" (Bathing in Moonlight) by yorushika.



The film will open in Japanese theaters on October 13.

A new character in the film, Byōzan, voiced by Natsuki Hanae, is on a mission to destroy the Orbital Spire Trees.

The anime TV series premiered on January 12 in Fuji TV's Ultra+ block in Japan and recently concluded.

Described as a "boy-meets-girl high fantasy," the series is set in a world where the Great Snow Sea is gradually swallowing the land. Humanity survives in the harsh environment above the canopy, which stretches from the roots to the treetops of the massive Orbital Spire Trees. The story centers on Kaina, a boy who lives above the canopy, and Liliha, the princess of the small nation of Atland in the Great Snow Sea.

Hiroaki Ando directs the anime, with scripts written by Sadayuki Murai and Tetsuya Yamada. The anime celebrates the 40th anniversary of Polygon Pictures.
