The original four-part anime adaptation celebrated its worldwide premiere on Disney+. The story revolves around Romi and her partner, who flee from the devastated Earth to start anew on the desolate planet Eden17. Upon arrival, they discover that the planet harbors no life, forcing Romi to adapt to an even harsher existence.

The narrative follows the "Nostalgia" arc of the original manga.
