The production of the fantasy anime series Neko to Ryuu (The Cat and the Dragon) has released a first key visual as well as an additional clip. The footage offers insights into the plot, which revolves around the extraordinary bond between a dragon raised by cats and its animal and human companions.

The newly released key visual shows the titular dragon cat together with the forest cats surrounding it. The accompanying video clip presents excerpts from the story and particularly highlights the relationship between the dragon cat and a mother cat.

- Haibuchi: A curious cat in a town protected by a castle – voiced by Noriaki Sugiyama

- Chiikuro: Kurobane's sibling, also at home in the deep forest – voiced by Maki Kawase

- Another sibling of Kurobane – voiced by Shinnosuke Tokudome

It was previously confirmed that Takehito Koyasu will voice the main character Nekoryū, a dragon raised by a cat.

The anime production is being created at Studio OLM under the direction of Jin-Koo Oh. The series composition is handled by Mitsutaka Hirota, while Takahiro Obata composes the musical score.

The adaptation is based on a light novel series by Amara, which originally started as a web series on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō and was later published in book form by Takarajimasha. The stories are highly popular, with total circulation exceeding one million copies.

The TV series is scheduled to begin in July 2026. At the AnimeJapan 2026 event, talk sessions with the voice actors as well as the distribution of themed tote bags are planned, among other things.
