A new seasonal visual has been released for the anime television series "Futsutsuka na Akujo dewa Gozaimasu ga: Suuguu Chouso Torikae Den" (English title: Though I Am anept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court). The illustration, fitting for March, shows the two main characters Kou Reirin and Shu Keigetsu enjoying a Hanami (cherry blossom viewing picnic) under fully bloomed cherry trees.
The story of the light novel series by Satsuki Nakamura is set in a realm inspired by historical China and follows the beautiful and intelligent Kou Reirin. After a body swap with the despised Shu Keigetsu, Reirin must navigate life in the imperial court in Keigetsu's body. The anime adaptation is being produced at Studio Doga Kobo under the direction of Mitsue Yamazaki. Yoshiko Nakamura is in charge of series composition, while Ai Kikuchi contributes the character design. The main roles are voiced by Manaka Iwami as Kou Reirin and Natsumi Kawaida as Shu Keigetsu.
The series' broadcast, originally planned for April 2026, has been adjusted due to production delays. The premiere is now scheduled for July 2026.
