News regarding the anime adaptation of SHIBOYUGI

For the series "SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table" (Japanese title: Shibō Yūgi de Meshi o Kū.), the first comprehensive promotional video has been released. Alongside this, further cast members for the voice acting have been announced.

The plot is based on a light novel series of the same name. A manga adapting the story is being serialized.

The story revolves around Yuki, a girl who awakens in a eerie mansion and finds herself in a deadly situation with five other girls. The estate is filled with weapons and traps; the only way out is to survive brutal games. In contrast to the others, however, Yuki is not frightened. For her, participating in such "Death Games" is a profession – she lives off the prize money she earns for surviving and winning such competitions.

The light novel series began in November 2022 and has received several awards, including the Excellence Award at the 18th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award.

The anime adaptation is being produced by Studio DEEN. The director in charge is Sōta Ueno, while Rintarou Ikeda is responsible for the series composition.

The series will be available internationally on streaming platforms in a timely manner, including Netflix and Crunchyroll. An English dub has been announced for the English-language version, set to begin simultaneously with the original broadcast.



The main promotional video conveys an impression of the dark atmosphere and shows initial scenes of the interactions between the characters.
