Recently, for the Toei Animation anniversary, plans for a new Dragon Ball Super movie were announced, with Akira Toriyama once again playing a major role. The panel at Comic-Con@Home 2021 was streamed today and revealed more details about what we can expect from the upcoming theatrical film. The movie is titled "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero."

After a performance of the "CHA LA HEAD CHA LA" Dragon Ball Z theme song by Hironobu Kageyama, Goku's voice actor Masako Nozawa discussed the new film with Toei Animation producer Norihiro Hayashida and Dragon Ball series editor and executive producer Akio Iyoku, showcasing character designs of Piccolo, Pan, and Krillin. As the title suggests, the film will focus on the "superhero" aspect. New characters will appear in the movie, and the premiere is scheduled for 2022.
