NHK, Japan's public broadcaster, has announced the upcoming premiere of two new anime series. Heart Cocktail Colorful, a series with five episodes, will premiere in late February on the NHK General channel. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Seizou Watase from 1980, which was already adapted into an anime in 1986. The cast includes Kazuya Kamenashi, Tamiyoshi Okuda, and Hikari Mitsushima. The series tells several love stories between the residents of a city, including a romance between an older couple and a love story affected by the pandemic.

The other series, Shuwawawan!, is a short anime with five-minute episodes. It is based on the manga Ikuji Manga Nikki (Manga Diary on Parenting) by Saitō. The anime is voiced by voice actor Masataka Kubota in the role of photographer and essayist Harumichi. The series focuses on the daily life of the Saitō family, who are deaf and communicate in sign language, and their hearing children. The first part of the series, consisting of three episodes, will air in late March on NHK's educational channel. The rest of the series will premiere in April.
