In this year's issue 10/11 of Hakusensha's magazine Hana to Yume, it was announced on Wednesday that the anime adaptation of Niehime to Kemono no Ou (Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts) will premiere on Japanese television in 2023.
The same Hakusensha magazine also announced a new spin-off manga, a new parallel story that will be published in Hana to Yume in summer or fall of next year and will take place after the main storyline of the manga, featuring new protagonists.
Yu Tomofuji worked on Niehime to Kemono no Ou from November 2015 until October 20, 2020. In Japan, it was compiled into a total of 15 volumes and reached a cumulative circulation of 1.7 million copies in print and digital formats.
Yen Press publishes the original manga in English and describes the story as follows:
A young girl has resigned herself to being the next sacrifice for the King of Beasts... but the king is no ordinary monster! In this beautifully crafted fantasy manga, love runs deeper than skin-deep.
