Regarding the upcoming release of the animation series Ninja to Gokudō (English: Ninja and the Yakuza) by manga artist Shinsuke Kondo, further promotional materials have appeared. A second main visual as well as a commercial provide insights into the plot.

The first episode with the title "Shinoba to Kiwami" shows the encounter between the ninja Tanaka Shinoba and the yakuza Kimura Kiwami. Although both characters share a common passion for anime, they originate from rival groups whose conflict dates back to the Edo period. Without knowing their mutual heritage, the ninja embarks on a mission into the yakuza headquarters to free a kidnapped governor.

The series tells the story of the ninja Tanaka Shinoba, who lost his ability to smile due to a traumatic event, and the yakuza Kimura Kiwami, who seemingly works as an employed office worker, but in reality operates as a member of the underworld. The voice actors for the main roles are provided by Chiaki Kobayashi (as Tanaka Shinoba) and Katsuyuki Konishi (as Kimura Kiwami).
