Nube no Jigoku Sensei: A new anime adaptation in 2025

The popular manga "Nube no Jigoku Sensei" by Sho Makura and Takeshi Okano will receive a new anime adaptation in 2025. The first teaser visual and the first promo video have been released.

"Nube no Jigoku Sensei" tells the story of Meisuke Nueno, nicknamed Nube, a teacher with a demonic hand and supernatural abilities. Nube uses his powers to protect his students from supernatural threats like ghosts and monsters. The original manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1993 to 1999 and was adapted into a TV anime from 1996 to 1997.

The teaser visual for the new anime shows Nube's hand holding a crystal ball in a school hallway. Inside the crystal ball, his demonic hand—usually concealed by a glove—is visible. Behind the demonic hand, children and a eerie shadow approaching them can be seen. The first promo video features creepy scenes from the school and its corridors, as well as Nube's spirit crystal, reflecting an unsettling atmosphere. The video also includes the cries of children pleading for help, further amplifying the sense of terror.

Sho Makura commented on the new adaptation, saying, "Times have changed, and animation is now digital. The setting and the children of Class 5-3 have been adjusted to modern times." Takeshi Okano expressed his excitement, stating, "This project has been in the works for many years, and it was hard to keep it a secret. But now I can finally announce it loudly! I'm thrilled! Yes! I'm looking forward to it!"
