"Odebu Akujo ni Tensei shitara, Nazeka Last Boss Ouji-sama ni Shuuchaku sareteimasu" gets a TV anime series.

The novel series titled "Odebu Akujo ni Tensei shitara, Nazeka Last Boss Ouji-sama ni Shuuchaku sareteimasu" (in English: "The Final-Boss Prince Is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me") is being adapted into a television anime for Japanese broadcast. The main roles are cast with popular voice actors.

The plot tells the story of a protagonist who, after her death, is reincarnated into the world of a novel as Celine. In this narrative, she is the selfish and overweight noblewoman designed as the antagonist to the heroine. Her original fate in the source material is a tragic death. To avoid this end, she makes great efforts to change her life's path.

Haruka Shiraishi voices the reincarnated noblewoman Celine. Takeo Otsuka lends his voice to Prince Wilfred.

The production of the anime series is handled by the animation studio Studio LINGS. This studio has previously been involved in the production of series such as "Yuri Is My Job!" and the adaptation of "This Monster Wants to Eat Me."

Naoyuki Kuzuya directs the series, with Mitsutaka Hirota responsible for series composition and screenplay. The character designs are created by Fumino Kakihata and Yukiko Sekita.

The story stands out from other representatives of the genre due to its unique premise, as the main character is reincarnated not as a beautiful heroine but as an unlikable side character and resists her predetermined fate. An additional conflict arises from the unexpected affection of the prince, who is intended as the final boss in the original plot.

The original work by Kotoko, illustrated by Kaname Hanamiya, enjoys a large readership on various digital platforms. Accompanying the adaptation announcement, a first visual concept image and an animated comic excerpt were released. The manga is available in Japanese from the publisher Kadokawa.
