Pas and Licorice's relationship deepens as they share a moment of happiness together, until they are interrupted by Nicolo, a servant who witnessed their interaction. Pas playfully threatens Nicolo with increasing his workload, and the two share a lighthearted moment.

At home, Pas is warmly greeted by his mother Agnes, who nearly suffocates him with her embrace. Pas's father, Margrave Hubarek, speaks of the impending threat posed by Margrave Lutoroute, who plans to invade before the union between their house and that of Duke Kadlecek strengthens their army.

Pas and his friend Feuille experiment with sugar cane to extract sugar, and with the help of Licorice and others, he builds a juice press to extract the juice from the sorghum stalks.

Despite initial failures and challenges, Pas remains optimistic and determined to realize his dream. However, the episode ends on a somber note as Margrave Hubarek informs Pas that the war between their lands and Lutoroute has begun.
