The TV anime adaptation of Kokoa Fujiwara's "Once Upon a Time, Magical Girls and Evil Were Enemies" is set to premiere in July. Reprising their roles from the 2015 drama CD, Yuki Ono will voice Mira and Mai Nakahara will voice Byakuya Mimori.
The romantic comedy follows the evil strategist Mira, who aims to destroy the world but falls in love at first sight with the unlucky magical girl Byakuya, who fights to protect the world. Akira Ohashi will direct the anime, while Yuniko Ayana will handle series composition and scriptwriting. Animation production will be handled by Studio Bones.
Additionally, a teaser visual drawn by character designer Haruko Iizuka has been released. The image, reminiscent of the cover of the original comic's first volume, captures the moment Mira and Byakuya meet.
