In episode 1121 titled "Garp and Kuzan - Master and Student Clash," Vice Admiral Garp leads a mission to rescue Captain Koby from the Blackbeard Pirates on Pirate Island, also known as Beehive. The episode begins with the Marines discovering heavily damaged battleships known as "Battleship Bags," which Garp and his former student Kuzan (Aokiji) used for training without Haki or Devil Fruits.


On Beehive Island, Garp demonstrates his immense strength by defeating Sanjuan Wolf, a giant member of the Blackbeard Pirates, with a single punch. As Garp's group—which includes Koby, Grus, Helmeppo, and Hibari—attempts to retreat, they are surrounded by the pirates. Kuzan confronts Garp, stating that he cannot let them leave, leading to a fierce battle between master and student.


During the fight, Shiryu of the Rain, a member of the Blackbeard Pirates with invisibility powers, wounds Garp while he protects Koby. Despite his injuries, Garp urges his subordinates to continue their escape. Sensing an opportunity, the pirates rally to attack the weakened Garp, lured by the high bounty placed on him.


Flashbacks reveal Kuzan's earlier desire to become Garp's student and their complicated relationship. Garp calls Kuzan a "stupid student" and declares him expelled. Amid the chaos, Avalo Pizarro, another member of the Blackbeard Pirates, uses the power of the Island Fruit to manipulate the island itself, targeting Garp's ship. His goal is to destroy it and make headlines about Garp's defeat.


As the island moves and a giant hand appears to crush the ship, Koby realizes the immediate danger to his comrades and the civilians on board. Determined to stop Pizarro's attack, Koby prepares to act, marking the decisive moment of the conflict.
