Opening song for anime "Darwin Jiben / Darwin's Incident" announced

The musical accompaniment for the upcoming anime series "Darwin Jiben" (English title: "Darwin's Incident") has been revealed.

The series' opening song will be the title "Make Me Wonder" by the Japanese band Official Hige Dandism. The band stated in a statement that they were very impressed by the original work and found the plot and the characters' dialogues captivating. They described the resulting song as a piece that combines both anticipation and fear of the unknown and whose powerful sound fits well with the world of the series.

A first trailer, which will contain a portion of this new song, is scheduled to be released on December 12 at 19:00 (Japan time).

The series itself, a science fiction action story, is based on a manga by Shun Umewada. It follows Charlie, a hybrid being between human and chimpanzee – a so-called "Humanzee" – who becomes a new kind of hero and challenges society. In the anime adaptation, Charlie is voiced by the voice actress Atsumi Tanezaki, while Koho Kanbe plays the role of Lucy. The series is scheduled for release in January 2026.
