Original TV anime “Maebashi Witches” announced to air in April 2025

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced its original TV anime "Maebashi Witches," set to air starting April 2025. The first teaser visual, a promotional video, and details about the cast and crew have been revealed.

"Maebashi Witches" is produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks at its in-house studio SUNRISE Studios and is a coming-of-age story set in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. The anime follows five high school girls who aspire to become witches. The main characters are Akagi Yuina (voiced by Sakura Kasuga), Niizato Az (voiced by Hinano Sakikawa), Kitahara Kyouka (voiced by Reina Motomura), Mitsumata Choco (voiced by Haruka Minami), and Kamiizumi Mai (voiced by Honami Momose). Tomokazu Sugita plays Keroppe, a mysterious confidant who recruits the five girls as witch apprentices.

The anime is directed by Junichi Yamamoto, with series composition and script by Erika Yoshida. The opening theme song "Sugo Sugoi Maebashi Witches!" was written by Tsunku, composed by TORIENA, and arranged by Yuki Kishida. It is performed by the main cast as the unit "Maebashi Witches."

The anime's visual design is inspired by Maebashi City's slogan "The City of Water, Greenery, and Poetry." The first teaser visual focuses on the theme of "green," featuring the characters photographing cherry blossom trees along the Hirose River and in front of the Gunma Prefectural Government Building.
