The anime series based on the manga "Oshi no Ko" by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari has announced plans for the production of a second season following the conclusion of the 11th episode.



"Oshi no Ko" premiered in Japan on April 12 with an extended 90-minute episode. According to HIDIVE, the platform streaming the anime, the series has achieved considerable success, earning the status of "#1 series debut in the streamer's history."

The first season was directed by Daisuke Hiramaki and Chao Nekotomi of Doga Kobo, with scripts supervised by Jin Tanaka. The characters were designed by Kanna Hirayama, who successfully translated the artistic elements of the manga into animations.

The story of "Oshi no Ko" revolves around Gorou, a gynecologist and ardent fan of the idol Ai, who suddenly announces a break from her career. Subsequently, an unexpected and profound bond develops between Gorou and Ai.

Since its debut in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020, the manga "Oshi no Ko" has been renowned for its unique storytelling and has received numerous awards. It won first place in the seventh "Next Manga Awards" in 2021 and was also awarded Best General Manga at the 46th annual Kodansha Manga Awards. Additionally, it was nominated for the 26th annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and the 14th and 15th Manga Taisho Awards.
