"Oshi no Ko": Third Anime relay announced - new details revealed

To the delight of the fan community, the continuation of the anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko (Original: Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari) has been confirmed. The third season is expected to be released in 2026, as announced at the Ichigo Production☆Fan Event 2025 in Tokyo. Fittingly, the team presented first visual material titled Side Ruby, showcasing the character Ruby in an intensely stylized look.

Further insights were shared during the event: A short clip combined the released visual with newly recorded dialogue from Ruby, while the series' voice actresses thrilled the audience with a live performance of the song POP IN 2. Additionally, design concepts for the characters Ruby, Arima Kana, and MEM-cho were presented, featuring outfits matching the music.

The story of Oshi no Ko combines dramatic twists with socially critical themes: The former doctor Goro finds himself, after mysterious events, as the child of the deceased idol artist Ai and attempts to establish himself in the entertainment industry—while simultaneously uncovering the circumstances behind Ai's fate. The underlying manga series, published in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha), is one of the publisher's most successful works, with over 18 million copies sold.

Following the first anime season (2023) and its sequel (2024), the now-announced third season continues the highly acclaimed adaptation of the source material. Fans can look forward to more emotionally gripping and visually stunning episodes.
