Osomatsu-san Season 4: Summer Premiere and New Teaser Visual Revealed

The fourth season of the TV anime Osomatsu-san will premiere in July, accompanied by the release of an exclusive teaser visual and a promotional video.

The new teaser image shows the six brothers in summer short-sleeved outfits, relaxing by the riverside. It captures a quiet, everyday scene of their laid-back lifestyle. The promo video features a humorous roll call scene where Osomatsu shouts, "Matsuno family!" and each brother responds in turn.

Yoshinori Odaka, who previously directed the film Osomatsu-san: The Hipipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit (2022), returns as director for Season 4. Screenwriter Shū Matsubara, who has been with the series since the first season, and character designer Eiji Abiko, who took over from Season 3, continue their work. The animation is produced by PIERROT FILMS.

Director Odaka expressed his excitement about creating a series that emotionally moves and entertains the audience. "We want to craft a series that makes people laugh, cry, and dance," he said. Matsubara hinted that the episodes will incorporate summer themes: "We’re planning stories that fit the season." He also encouraged fans to embrace small changes: "It’s nice when some things stay the same, but a few little updates can be exciting too."

Character designer Abiko shared his delight about working with Odaka again: "I never expected we’d collaborate once more for the fourth season. It feels like a strange twist of fate."

Based on Fujio Akatsuka’s classic gag manga Osomatsu-kun, Osomatsu-san tells the humorous stories of the six Matsuno brothers, portrayed as unemployed, hopeless "losers" in adulthood. The first season premiered in 2015, followed by the second in 2017 and the third in 2020.

The upcoming season promises to retain the series' signature humor while introducing fresh twists to continue captivating long-time fans.
