"Ossan Kensei" Season 2: Second PV Shows Beryl as a Teacher at the Magic Academy

A second promotional video has been released for the anime "From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman II" (Japanese: "Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II"). The new clip premiered on March 28, 2026, at the "AnimeJapan 2026" event on the grounds of Tokyo Big Sight.

The approximately one-minute PV offers a preview of the upcoming plot: Accordingly, the protagonist Beryl Gardernant, who rose from a simple swordsman from the provinces to a special instructor for the Knight's Guild in the first season, is appointed as a teacher at the Magic Academy on the suggestion of Lucy Diamond, the commander of the Royal Magic Corps. The images show both the relaxed everyday life with his devoted students and action-packed scenes that delve deeper into the secrets of the academy.

The second season will start in July 2026 and will be broadcast on Japanese television on TV Asahi (nationwide 24-station network), BS Asahi, and AT-X. Worldwide, the series is available exclusively via the streaming service Prime Video.
