The upcoming TV drama adaptation of the manga "Otto ni Furin wo Onegai Saremashita" (roughly translated as "I Was Asked by My Husband to Have an Affair") by Nakaie Yoshitaka has unveiled an official key visual as well as seven additional main cast members. Produced by TV Osaka, the series will premiere on July 9, 2026, at 24:00 on the network, followed by broadcasts on TV Aichi (July 14) and TV Tokyo (July 15). Simultaneously, the series will be available for free with ads as a catch-up service on the streaming platform TVer.

The story revolves around housewife Hanae (played by Yurika Nakamura), who, after five years of marriage, is confronted by her sexually abstinent, overworked bank employee husband Hiroki (Ryo Sano of GENERATIONS). When she seeks a conversation, her husband suggests she find sexual satisfaction outside the marriage—a so-called "approved affair." The story is based on the author's real-life experiences and was initially published as a webcomic on the platform "CMOA Comics."

The newly announced roles include: Shō Hayama as Ryohei Kawachi, Hanae's elementary school friend and teacher, who always lends her an ear; Atsuko Hashiyasume (formerly of BiSH) as Erika Moriya, an original character created specifically for the drama who supports Hanae's secret plan; Sumire Yokono as Haruna Sato, a seductive colleague of Hiroki; Takayuki Hamatsu (known from "One Cut of the Dead") as Dr. Anzai, a key figure for the couple; Motoki Kobayashi as Hiroki's superior Handa; Nozomi as the couple's daughter Haruna; and Umi Yamano as Hanae's mother. The guest cast for the men with whom Hanae engages in the approved affairs will be announced at a later date.

The key visual shows the couple on a bed—while Hiroki proposes the affair, Hanae looks rejecting and hurt. A simultaneously released relationship diagram clarifies the dynamics: an arrow from Hiroki to Hanae reads "Proposal of an approved affair," while from Hanae back, the words "I'll do it!" appear. The drama's ending theme is performed by lead actress Yurika Nakamura herself; the song is titled "Kitty" and will be released under Starry Records. Nakamura describes the track as "a cheeky cat that reflects the longing for love and the misunderstandings between two people."

A special teaser and an interview with the two lead actors are already available on TVer. Producers Hiroki Yamamoto (chief producer), Miyu Sasaki, Makoto Yanokuchi, and Keita Haikawa are responsible for the series, which is directed by Ryuichi Honda and Yasuyuki Niiyama. The screenplay is written by Kana Yamada and Atsuki Tomori.
