"Paradox Live The Animation": A Preview of the Future of Hip-Hop

During the "Paradox Live Dope Show 2023" concert, a preview of the upcoming anime "Paradox Live The Animation" was released. The teaser gives fans a first look at the series produced by PINE JAM Studio and sparks viewers' interest in anticipation of the anime's premiere this October.



The anime boasts the return of a star-studded cast, featuring voice actors such as Gakuto Kajiwara, Ayumu Murase, 96Neko, Ryōta Takeuchi, Yuu Hayashi, Natsuki Hanae, Junta Terashima, Yūsuke Kobayashi, Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Takayuki Kondō, Shima, Shunichi Toki, Tasuku Hatanaka, and Shōgo Yano. These artists will bring to life a variety of captivating characters as they dive into this hip-hop-inspired world.

Directed by Naoya Ando, who has worked on highly regarded anime projects, and with Takayo Ikami as the scriptwriter, the upcoming series promises a well-rounded story. The character designs are in the capable hands of Koji Haneda, who gives the series a unique aesthetic.

The plot revolves around a near-future society where hip-hop artists use a metallic substance called Phantom Metal for their performances. This futuristic element interacts with the rappers' DNA and triggers illusions during their performances that are tied to their emotions.

The series is part of a larger franchise developed by Avex and GCREST. Inspired by the live event Paradox Live, the project centers around four hip-hop teams: BAE, The Cat's Whiskers, cozmez, and Akan Yatsura. The competitive spirit of the teams at the event has motivated the legendary hip-hop team Buraikan to launch a new competition titled Phantom Live, expanding the contest to eight teams. In addition to the anime, the franchise also includes CDs, merchandise, events, and an upcoming smartphone game.
