A new, independent anime production with the title "Prism Rondo" by Yoko Kamio, the author of "Hana yori Dango", will be released on January 15, 2026 exclusively on Netflix. A first trailer, a key visual, as well as information about the production team and the voice actors have been released.

The plot is a youth love story set in London in the early 1900s. The protagonist Riri Ichijoin, an aspiring painter, enrolls at an art academy after making an agreement with her parents that she must reach the top position at the academy within half a year, otherwise she must return. She meets Kit Church, the son of a noble family, a willful and talented art student who always causes trouble. While Riri sees a rival in him, Kit, who until now was only interested in painting, begins to warm to her sincere and passionate nature.

The main roles and their voice actors are:

- Atsumi Tanezaki as Riri Ichijoin
- Koki Uchiyama as Kit Church
- Yuki Kaji as Shinnosuke Kobayakawa
- Akari Kito as Sakura Kobayakawa

The series is directed by Kazuto Nakazawa, known for the animation sequences in "Kill Bill" and who also directed "B: The Beginning". The animation work is handled by WIT STUDIO, responsible for productions such as "Attack on Titan" and "SPY×FAMILY". The title song "star flower" is performed by Chilli Beans. The series will consist of a total of 20 episodes.

The released trailer conveys the story's atmosphere filled with dreams and hopes and also hints at a budding romance. The key visual shows the characters against the magnificent backdrop of London.
