For the manga series "Yōchien WARS" (English title: Kindergarten Wars) by author Yū Chiba, an anime adaptation has been officially announced. As part of this announcement, first visual materials as well as the names of the key people involved in the production were released.

The direction of the series will be handled by Shinsuke Gomi. Character design is the responsibility of Junko Yamanaka. The animation work is carried out by the well-known studio Sunrise.

The plot is based on a manga that appears on the Shonen Jump+ platform and whose print edition has reached a total circulation of over two million copies. The story takes place in an exclusive educational institution referred to as the "Black Kindergarten," which cares for the children of influential personalities from around the world.

The teachers of this institution are former felons who, in exchange for reduced sentences, take on a new role as protectors. The narrative combines action with romantic comedy elements and focuses on two main characters: Rita, a former elite assassin, and her colleague Doug, who was a con artist. The dynamic between these two unusual educators forms a core point of the series.

Among the first released materials are a teaser key visual, showing the protagonists in their unusual work environment, as well as individual illustrations of the characters Rita and Doug.

Additionally, a special promotional clip, a so-called voicecomic, was released. It features the newly recorded voices of the main characters. The role of Rita is voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki, while Kentarō Kumagai provides the voice of Doug.

An exact date for the start of the series is not yet set at the current time. Further information is expected to be announced at a later date.
