Episode 18 begins with Starlia convinced of Ragna's authenticity and explaining her successful teleportation to an unknown environment. On the way to reuniting with Starlia's comrade, a discussion arises about Garm and Shin, whose crucial support for Ragna they acknowledge. Starlia reflects on the potential of Shin and Garm and proceeds to describe the strengths and weaknesses of their other allies.

A pivotal moment occurs when Starlia decides to separate in order to forge a sword called "The Silver Comet," risking death to provide Ragna with a useful weapon. After an abrupt separation caused by a ground eruption, Starlia hopes for a reunion in the future.

When Ragna awakens from a nightmare, he finds himself bandaged and surrounded by his allies Chris, Fu, and others. Realizing he is at the location Starlia mentioned, Ragna encounters Slime, who informs him about the group's morale, shaken by the loss of many comrades, and asks him to motivate them. Ike then explains the situation they are in to Ragna and suggests eating before meeting with an important person. Ike's emotional breakdown happens shortly afterward when Ragna senses Starlia's presence.

The episode takes a turn when Ragna confronts Ultimatia, only to be corrected that she is Carula, the Dragon Scourge of the Solar Church and Saint of Time. Carula expresses their shared desire to destroy the dragons and spares Ragna for his actions against one of her duplicates, suggesting Ike as a possible scapegoat. Despite Ragna's plea for her to use her time powers to save Starlia, Carula deems it impractical due to the energy cost and perceived futility.

The narrative shifts to a peaceful dialogue between Carula, Ike, and Ragna, in which Carula heals Ragna slightly and provides background information about the ruins they inhabit, which are protected by the Solar Church from the dragons. The encounter with Nazarena reveals her dual role in Starlia's life and hints at the consequences following Starlia's death.

Carula's proposal to make Ragna the Dragon Scourge is met with rejection. She uses the fate of the refugee Lees as leverage against Ragna's cooperation and hints at a deal with Starlia. Ragna's frustration over Carula's lack of support culminates in him demanding shelter for the refugees and vowing to destroy Ultimatia.

At the end of the episode, Ragna and Slime meet Crimson, who promises healing and hands Ragna a key.
