Rail Romanesque 2: Promo video revealed and cast announced

Fans of the series Rail Romanesque have reason to rejoice: A new promotional video for the upcoming second season, "Rail Romanesque 2," was recently released on the series' official X/Twitter account. The new season, set to premiere on the night of October 5, will further explore the world of Railords, the humanoid characters with train motifs.



The cast for this season has also been announced. Tanaka will bring a new character to life, Kaniko, who is modeled after the steam locomotive C11202. Uesaka will return as the voice of Suzushiro, a role she originally played in the first season.

This new installment is directed by Michiru Ebira from Yokohama Animation Lab. The creative team also includes Tensho Sato as character designer and Kō Ogata as art director. Other key roles are filled by Yūsei Kashima as color designer, Ryohei Miyasaka as cinematographer, and Kisuke Koizumi as sound director.

The Rail Romanesque series originated from a PC game released worldwide by Sekai Project via Steam in June 2018. The game is set in an alternate reality in Japan where trains, combined with humanoid modules called "Railords," are the preferred mode of transportation. Players take on the role of Sotetsu, a university student who returns to his hometown to solve a water pollution crisis while also searching for a missing locomotive with the help of the revived Railord Hachiroku.
