Record of Ragnarok Anime Reveals Trailer, Cast, Visual, Jun 17, Global Debut On Netflix

The team behind the anime adaptation of Shinya Umemura, Ajichika, and Takumi Fukui's Record of Ragnarok (Shūmatsu no Walküre) manga revealed that Netflix will debut the anime worldwide on June 17. The staff also unveiled a trailer with optional English subtitles, a key visual, and three new cast members. The video below previews the opening song "Kamigami" by Maximum The Hormone.

7 million years of human civilization are coming to an end...

Every 1000 years, all the gods of the world gather in heaven to attend the "Conference on the Survival of Humanity."

All the gods agree to bring about humanity's final demise due to their past foolishness, but before the final verdict is passed, Brunhild, the eldest of the 13 Valkyrie sisters, raises an objection.

"To spice things up, why don't you test the humans?"

Her proposal was to hold the final battle of gods versus humans, known as "Ragnarök," where all the gods of the world and champions from throughout human history engage in one-on-one battles. The first team to win 7 out of 13 matches will be the victor.

It seems nearly impossible for humans to win against the gods.

Though the gods mock them, Brunhild continues to provoke;

"Are you cowards?"

This strikes a nerve with the gods, and they angrily accept her proposal.

Thus, Brunhild and her sisters must select 13 of the strongest champions in human history.

Will humanity manage to outmatch the gods and halt the ultimate end?
