Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Anime Gets First Trailer

On the occasion of Anime Expo 2022, Warner Bros. Japan revealed the first trailer for the second season of the anime Record of Ragnarok. The continuation of this adaptation of the同名 work by scriptwriters Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and illustrator Ajichika will be released on Netflix in 2023.



Masao Ookubo directs the series, while Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Yuka Yamada are involved in the series composition. Masaki Sato is responsible for the character designs, and Yasuharu Takanashi composes the music.

The plot is described as follows:

Humanity is doomed! The gods of all religions gather every 1,000 years in Valhalla to decide the fate of humans. This time, humanity has gone too far: wars, pollution, destruction of nature... The gods' decision is final—humans will go extinct...

But there is one last hope: The Valkyries propose activating an ancient law that allows the gods to face off against the mightiest humans—Ragnarök. Each faction selects their 13 champions, who will engage in an unequal battle against each other, with only one victor emerging, decided by a best-of-seven system.

While the gods will have beings like Zeus, Anubis, Shiva, or Thor in their ranks, the humans will count among their defenders figures such as Rasputin, Leonidas, Kojiro Sasaki, or Jack the Ripper. Though the gods mock their weak opponents, the cunning of humans and the aid of the Valkyries lead to some of the most brutal and surprising battles.
