As a preview for its third and final narrative phase, the anime project Oshi no Ko (My Star) has released a special compilation video. Published under the title Looking Back, the piece shows key scenes from the series so far, accompanied by all six main theme songs from seasons one to three. The video thus connects a musical retrospective with a look ahead to the new plot.

The selected songs trace the emotional and thematic arc of the story. Beginning with the globally popular opening Idol by YOASOBI from the first season, through the ending Mephisto by Queen Bee and the tracks Fatal (GEMN) and Burning (Hitsujibungaku) from the second season, the video spans the arc to the new titles for the final section. These are TEST ME by CHANMINA as the opening and Serenade by natori as the ending of the third season. The compilation thus also shows the musical development of the series, which has been shaped by various artists from the J-Pop and J-Rock genres.

The new season, which starts on January 14, adapts the so-called "Mainstay Arc" of the source material. The plot picks up some time after the events of the second season and shows the characters on various career paths in the entertainment industry. While B-Komachi, the group of protagonist Ruby, is on the verge of its big breakthrough, her twin brother Aqua has established himself as a versatile entertainer. At the same time, the siblings continue their respective revenge-driven investigations into the case of their murdered mother Ai. New voice actors have been hired for this final phase, including Yuto Takenaka and Yōji Ueda.

Production Background
The anime continues to be directed by Daisuke Hiramaki at Studio Doga Kobo. For the third season, there were personnel adjustments in the team of chief animators. The series is based on the manga published between 2020 and 2024 by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, which concluded in November 2024. In addition to the great popularity of the anime, the source material has already inspired a live-action film adaptation.
