Revival of the ending theme and new Luffy form for One Piece anime revealed

The One Piece anime, one of the longest-running and most popular series in the genre, is returning to an established convention it had set aside for nearly two decades: the ending theme song. This development was announced during the livestream event One Piece Day 2023. Previously, the anime had favored an extended opening theme over the traditional inclusion of an ending theme.

The musical ensemble Chilli Beans, consisting of three members, will lend their talents to the new ending theme titled "Raise." Viewers and fans can look forward to hearing this new musical addition on August 6, as announced during the livestream event, which also provided a first look at the upcoming title song.

In addition to the musical updates, the One Piece Day event also shed light on a new development in the series' storyline. A preview video showcased the protagonist Luffy equipped with a new form, Gear Fifth.



The changes come at a time when the anime's Wano Country arc, which began in 2019, is approaching its climax.
