"Rick and Morty: The Anime" will be a unique project that incorporates thematic elements and events from the "Rick and Morty" animated series while maintaining its own, individual story.

At Telecom Animation Film, Takashi Sano, known for his work on "Tower of God," takes on the role of writer and director for this 10-episode series. His portfolio already includes directing the animated shorts "Rick and Morty vs. Genocider" and "Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)." Production is handled by Sola Entertainment, with Maki Nagano, Max Nishi, and Takenari Maeda serving as producers.

This is not the first time Rick and Morty has ventured into the anime realm. Previously, Studio DEEN produced the animated short "Samurai & Shogun" in March 2020, followed by a sequel aired by Adult Swim in November 2021, and in October 2021, the 11-minute animated short "The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara" was broadcast.
