The episode begins in a rural setting, where a girl named Angeline, commonly called Ange, lives with her father Belgrieve. Belgrieve is a retired adventurer who has taught Ange the ways of adventuring. Ange is eager to follow in her father's footsteps. She leaves her hometown of Turnera to become an adventurer and achieves the rank of S, the highest rank awarded by the adventurer's guild of Orphen.

Five years later, Ange is a renowned adventurer, known as the Black-Haired Valkyrie. She looks forward to a long vacation to visit her father for the first time in years. However, her plans are disrupted when she encounters a swarm of dangerous creatures known as giant ants in a place called Asterinos. Despite her disappointment, she successfully completes her mission.

On her way back to Turnera, Ange meets Seren, the third daughter of Count Bordeaux, who is in a hurry to visit her seriously ill father. Seren and her guards are ambushed by bandits, and Ange saves them. Touched by Seren's situation, Ange decides to postpone her own journey to escort Seren to her father.

Meanwhile, Belgrieve assists the local community in Turnera and reminisces about Ange. He teaches the village children survival skills in the wilderness and recalls how quickly Ange picked up skills as a child. He is proud of her accomplishments but also misses her.

Back in the city of Orphen, Ange and her companions Anessa and Miriam chat about her past. Ange shares that she was abandoned in the mountains by Belgrieve. She writes a letter to her father, expressing her desire to visit him soon and tell him about her life.
