They are enjoying the spring festival when they learn that the road to Bordeaux needs repairs. Belgrieve is tasked with delivering this news to Countess Helvetica Bordeaux. Ange suggests traveling together to Orphen, and Belgrieve agrees.

Upon arriving at an inn, the group encounters Gort the Thunderbolt, a self-proclaimed strong adventurer. Anessa defeats him with ease, drawing the group's attention. They reveal their high ranks as adventurers, and the crowd is particularly amazed to learn that Ange is the famous "Black-Haired Valkyrie."

Shortly afterward, they are invited to the Bordeaux manor by Seren Bordeaux, Helvetica's younger sister. There, Ange confronts Helvetica about her intentions toward her father and makes it clear that she won’t simply accept her as a potential stepmother.
