In a recent update to the Sailor Moon franchise, the official YouTube channel released a promotional video for the long-awaited anime film project, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie. The two-part film adapts the final "Shadow Galactica" arc from Naoko Takeuchi's original Sailor Moon manga. The most exciting reveal was the announcement of nine new cast members who will voice the antagonists, the Shadow Galactica.

The newly revealed cast includes several well-known voice actors: Sena Koizumi as Sailor Iron Mouse, Ayumu Murase as Sailor Aluminum Siren, Yōko Hikasa as Sailor Lead Crow, Mariya Ise as Sailor Tin Nyanko, Haruka Kudō as Sailor Heavy Metal Papillion, Shiori Mikami as Sailor Lethe, Kanae Itō as Sailor Mnemosyne, Fumie Mizusawa as Sailor Phi, and Yuka Komatsu as Sailor Chi.

Additionally, Saori Hayami, Marina Inoue, and Ayane Sakura will voice Taiki Kō/Sailor Star Maker, Seiya Kō/Sailor Star Fighter, and Yaten Kō/Sailor Star Healer, respectively. Nana Mizuki will play Princess Kakyū, Megumi Hayashibara will portray Sailor Galaxia, and Kotono Mitsuishi will voice Chibi Chibi. Mitsuishi will also reprise her iconic role as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon.

Tomoya Takahashi, known for his work on Den-noh Coil and Gatchaman Crowds, is directing both films for Toei Animation. The screenplay is written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, a renowned name who has contributed to all six parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Land of the Lustrous, and PriPara. The original Sailor Moon anime character designer, Kazuko Tadano, is also on board, continuing her creative journey with the series. Yasuharu Takanashi will compose the film's music, while Yumiko Soraga serves as art director.

The film's theme song, titled "Tsuki no Hana" (Moonflower), will be performed by Daoko. The films will premiere in theaters on June 9 and June 30, with all cast members from previous seasons returning.
