The television animation which is based on Kazuya Minekura’sSaiyuki Reload Blast manga had announced through its official website about the new cast members for the animation. The new cast members are Chiwa Saito as Taruchie (A mysterious girl), Junichi Suwabe (A mysterious man), Souichiro Hoshi as Son Goku, Toshihiko Seki as Genjo Sanzo, Hiroaki Hirata as Sha Gojyo, Rei Igarashi as Kanzeon Bosatsu, Souichiro Hoshi as Son Goku, Akira Ishida as Cho Hakkai, and Takeshi Kusaro as Kougaji.
The company is planning to premiere the animation in July. This is the first animation of Saiyuki, and it is animating by Platinum Vision. Hideaki Nakano is the director of the anime, and Kenji Konuta is the script supervisor; they both had previously worked for Aoharu x Machinegun and Servamp animation series. Youko Satou is the character designer.
The manga is serialised by Minekura in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine. There is also a sequel of the Minekura’s Saiyuki and Saiyuki reload manga that is Reload Blast. In 2009, she launched the series in Comic Zero-Sum. In 2014, Ichijinsha published the second compiled book volume of the manga.
In 2000, Saiyuki manga was got adapted into a film, and also a sequel film. Saiyuki Reload had inspired two anime adaptations.
