The team behind the anime adaptation of "SAKAMOTO DAYS" released a new character PV on August 21, 2026. At the same time, an "Other Version" of the teaser visual, which had already been presented in June together with the start date of the second season, was published. Both materials focus on the three characters who are new to the cast from season two onward: Shu, Etsuko Satoda, and Yotsumura.

The character PV shows Shu, voiced by Kikunosuke Toya, as a student of the JCC who is openly hostile toward the assassin organization. "The era of the assassin organization is over. Such a pathetic group – they should all die," he lets himself be heard in the trailer and engages in action-packed battles with a four-part staff weapon. Etsuko Satoda, the most senior teacher at the JCC, is voiced by Misa Watanabe and throws Shin to the ground with an aikido technique while she calls out: "You failed. Such dangerous things, that won't do." As the third character, Yotsumura appears, voiced by Shinshu Fuji. The former number two of the organization, who was once involved in building the special unit ORDER, murmurs: "We must be tasteless and odorless and carry an invisible intent to kill within us," before engaging in a fierce fight with Kamigami and Nagumo.

The also released motif "Other Version" picks up the composition of the teaser visual: Sakamoto and Shin stand back to back again, this time Sakamoto's weapon is a ballpoint pen and Shin's combat glove. In the background, the lettering "坂本の日々" ("Sakamoto's Days") is visible in large letters, accompanied by black clouds – an image that underscores the tension before the upcoming mission.

The series is based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki, which has been published in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" since 2020 and has already sold more than 18 million copies worldwide. The first season of the anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired from January to March 2025 and from July to September 2025 and was distributed via Netflix, among others. In the second season, Sakamoto and Shin set out for the JCC, Japan's training institution for assassins, to gather clues about the identity of "X"; the antagonist turned out to be a former classmate from Sakamoto's JCC days at the end of the first season.

For the new episodes, Daisuke Nakajima takes the director's chair, while Masaki Watanabe, director of the first season, remains on board as chief director. Taku Kishimoto, Hiroshi Moriyama, and Yuki Hayashi continue to be responsible for series composition, character design, and music. Meanwhile, the new voice actors give initial character impressions: Toya describes Shu as an exceptionally sincere young man deeply connected to friends and family, Watanabe emphasizes the unexpectedly caring side of her teacher character, and Fuji calls Yotsumura a nihilist who hides great loyalty beneath a cool facade. The second season starts in January 2027.
